It's a shame this country is filled with such dishonest people. It seems folks lie about everything. In their business they are dishonest for gain. Students lie to their teachers. Children lie to their parents. Employees lie to their employers and vice versa. When will it all stop? When will folks stop being so deceitful and start facing up to their responsibilities. It’s important to remind folks, DON'T FORGET THE TRUTH!!!
LYING TO GOD
It is a great error to lie to God. It evokes great consequences. Ananias and Sapphira once lied to God as is recorded in Acts chapter 5.As a result, they were struck dead! (Vss 5&10). Perhaps God will not strike you dead on the spot for lying to Him today, but you will face the music on the day of judgment. There are surely some who are trying to tell God the same lie these in Acts 5 did; however, there are other lies folks are telling God. “I’ll do more tomorrow.” "I will start studying your word regularly next week.” But it never happens. Some lie to God through singing. When we sing, God hears the words (Eph. 5:19,20). When we sing we will work for the night is coming, do we work? When we sing that we will praise Him, do we praise Him in everything we do? When we sing the song, "I love to tell the story," are we telling the story to our friends, neighbors. Do we really love it? Friends, let us not lie to God. We cannot deceive Him because He knows all things (Heb. 4:13). When it comes to dealing with The Almighty, DON'T FORGET THE TRUTH!!!
LYING TO MEN
Men seem to be always lying to other men. We must stop all of this childish behavior. There is so much deceit in the world it’s starting to have a great effect on the Lord's church. We must speak the truth to one another (Eph. 4:25). There are many types of lies folks tell. Lying is defined as, "To tell a lie or convey a false image or impression." American heritage dict. Many think as long as they don't just come out and tell a lie, it is alright. If we only tell half the truth, it is alright. Maybe if we word it so it is not actually a lie, it will be alright. Listen, any time you tell anything that leaves someone with a false impression of what the truth is, you have lied!!! There are malicious lies which are told with the intent of destroying one's character (Prov 10:18). There are commercial lies which are told to obtain money under false pretense (Mat 28:12-15). There are social lies which are told to keep from hurting other people's feelings (Prov. 26:28). There are religious lies which are told with the intention to deceive others spiritually (Rom. 16:17,18) . But whatever the lie, and whatever the type of lie; we know ALL liars have their place in the lake which burns with fire (Rev. 21 :8). Be someone of great integrity. Be someone with an honest heart. Please, DON'T FORGET THE TRUTH!
