Over the ages and in many different societies there have been diligent efforts to find the fountain of youth. It has been said to be found in certain foods, or in certain springs, or in certain climates. At times, people have traveled great distances and dispensed great amounts of money in order to partake of “the fountain of youth.” All of this is done so that they may find perfect health again, or possibly even escape the cold, clammy hands of the dreaded reaper. In reality, there is a fountain of youth, that is, there is a remedy to death. Surprisingly, this fountain is very inexpensive and one does not have to travel far to obtain it. We sometimes sing a song that speaks of this fountain, “There’s a fountain free tis for you and me: Let us haste oh haste to the brink.” This fountain is found in Christ and is accessed through obedience to the word of God (Heb. 5:8,9). The fountain of eternal life truly is free. So, what are you waiting on? Drink up! Obey Christ Today! “For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne...shall lead them unto living fountains of water” (Rev. 7:17).
